bianca's Ramen RomperRoom |
Ah Ramen! Blessed be thy name! bianca and some of the trolls recently realized that their bodies were almost entirely composed of water and ramen. And, when you get right down to it, most of the water in their systems comes from eating ramen as well.
"How unhealthy!" you say. Au contraire mon ami! Properly cooked, ramen can be as healthy and nutritious as any meal. And, with the correct spicing, an otherwise ordinary bowl of noodles, water, and monosodium glutamate can be turned into a culinary delight! bianca has spent years mastering her ramen skills, and she's sure that many of you out there have a few tricks up your sleeves that she doesn't know.
"But it's so pedestrian!" you say. Pisshaw! Ramen is a food rich in tradition and cultural value. Consider Tampopo, a fine film dedicated to the philosophy, creation, and consumption of this most ancient treat. Contemplate the role ramen has played in your life and friendships. And, give a moment's thought to the possibility that ramen is perhaps the single best bridge between East and West, and between the past and the present. Soon you will realize how important a role ramen has played in your world and the world around you.
Don't take it lightly! bianca certainly doesn't! In fact, she would like nothing more than to support the creation of a full-blown ramen resource. A paean to that which sustains her during her longest nights and brightest days. Please tell bianca your stories about, and recipes for, this most wonderful of meals. Tell her your tips for tastey and healthy ramen cooking. Regale her with any fun ramen facts, or tastey ramen anecdotes you might have. And, next time you have a cup or bowl of the sacred soup and noodles, please take a moment to reflect upon the amazing cultural artifact you have before you.
For the best spicy Ramen, get Nong Shim's Shin Ramyun Hot and Spicy (the red and black package). w00t :)
If horse racing is the king of sports
Then ramen noodles is it's equivalent, I snort
Made in God's own image, Amen!
Is my steaming bowl of sweet, sweet ramen.

Has anyone experienced with the Ramen-Taco Bell connection. Nothing makes a better bowl of Ramen than a packet or two of Taco Bell sauce-hot, medium, mild, fire... take your pick. That's what makes Ramen-its customizability. I love it!
OK - hands down one of the best ways to eat this great noodles - First boil some water (amount does not matter), then add noodles, cook for 3 min. Once noddles are done, drain water, and flavor packet, add some powdered garlic, salt and papper, butter, and milk. Stir and enjoy
Just find stuff like mushrooms and left over chicken or beef and some veggies --Bok Choy is best or even broccili and add to hot water a cooking..toss in some frozen shrimp..
More water not less for more of a meal and boost with some Oyster sauce from the bottle and away ye go
My personal Ramen Way is to cook the things in plain water, ddrain the water off, add the seasoning and toss. then in the same saucepan you just cooked 'em in, take a can of vegetable beef soup and toss it in...do not add any water. Takes only about a minute to get it hot, the put your Ramen in a bowl and cover with the soup-suace.
De-Lish!
Ramen is my especial dish, but my mother calls it "Hobo food", I think not!!! Every time I have some money I get Ramen and cook it with the seasoning, and let me tell you IT TASTES GOOOOOOOOOOOOODD, not just good, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!
Catch my drift?
Cheap. Good. It meets all college kid criteria. Yay for ramen noodles.
I found the perfect way to cook ramen in a microwave. I put a handful of cabbage cut for coleslaw and/or brocalli slaw (both found in the fresh vegie section of the grocery) in the bottom of my bowl, add a broken up block of ramen, and enough water to cover. Cover the bowl and Microwave for 5 minutes, then let sit for a couple of minutes. I then drain the almost all the water off, add the seasoning packet, and a drizzle of sesame oil. You can also add a bit of meat, according to your flavor packet, for an added treat!
Fried ramen (my favorite)
Take your ramen, boil untill soft. Drain and wash with cold water then after all the noodles are cold then put in a frying pan (prefferably non stick so you dont have to use oil, since it tastes better without oil). Fry untill the noodles are brown and almost burnt in some places (this takes practice because the noodles stick together without water and its more difficult to fry all the noodles evenly like this so try some creative frying). While its frying add your spices and if you want add an egg that can fry through the noodles. Dump in a bowl and eat hot :)
Know what Ramen goes good with? Guns N Roses. Yup.
Ramen!
It's the meal of the day
Ramen,
though I'm sick of the taste
Ramen!
It flows through my veins
Ramen,
Keeps my horses under rein!
And if you recall,
a noodle meal atall,
pasty noodles, foam cup,
spicy broth I do sup,
Ramen!
breath and skin alike
Ramen,
Share a reek and strike!
Ramen!
Bloody reunion at last,
Ramen,
Helps me with my mast!
Thank you!
PAY ATTENTION: THE NUMBER ONE WAY TO MAKE RAMEN IS TO COOK PER DIRECTIONS ON PACKAGE, ADD A LITTLE CRUSHED RED PEPPER (IF YOU LIKE THINGS SPICY), AND ADD A LITTLE LESS THEN THE JUICE OF HALF A LIME. IT MAY SOUND DISCUSTING- BUT TRUST ME!!!! IT IS ABSOLUTELY DELOCIOUS! I WOULD NEVER EAT IT ANY OTHER WAY!
i love the cheapness and deliciousness of ramen. my friend who lives with me makes 2 packages of ramen for every time she eats it. I like to drink the ramen broth, its soooooo yummy, and i liek to extra cook the noodles, so they are so tender and yummy. also if u feel unhealthy just cut up vegetables and add them in. never tried the egg thing but ill try it tonight :)
I eat Ramen at least once a day...
But I wanna be a vegetarian.. does the beef ramen have actual beef in it??
I think I can, I think I can
eat one more cup of Maruchan
I eat it now I ate it then
before I grew to be a man
The thing I fear the most, my dear,
is a total worldwide ramen ban
put noodles and season in a bowl add your two cups water, exactly. then microwave ten minutes on regular or high heat. makes the perfect oodles of noodles.
hmmm. ramen is the best. especially when u got the munchies. the way i eat it is like this: i cook it the usual way as instuctions suggest then to give it a thick, delicous, creamy taste i add one Kraft single cheese. yummm. and for u hot sauce lovers, try adding a few drops or more of Belize's "Marie Sharp's" fiery hot sauce. godly stuff. not sure if it's available in the U.S. but if u do get a hold of it, try some with that majestic bowl of ramen soup.
i remember one time.. a friend taught me how to fuck myself with ramen.. you fill a bag with boiling water... then let it soften... then smear in half a bottle of vaseline... it becomes a gooey oily mess.. slide ur cock into it and it feels so goood.... fuck it until u cum, then take the mixture, pour into a bowl, and.. enjoy!
Once I MASTURBATED with a dry block of ramen. I cut my penis and the blood sprayed ALL over the dry ramen. It looked kinda tempting... so... I spread the MSG packet all over my throbbing cock and bloodied ramen block then proceeded to eat it... as I put it in my mouth I EJACULATED from my torn penis....!!!! It was so sexual!
you have to try ramen with sour cream, its the shit.
you bitchs you don't know the first thing about ramen it's a korean food *REPRESENT!* the best kind of ramen is cup ramen that you get in like a styrfoam bowl with the noodles and crap you heat the water and poor it into the bowl put egg or watever in it cuz thee water should be hot enough to make the egg hard then you get your chopsticks and enjoy..
Could you please tell me how much the fat and caroloies are reduced if the pack of seasoning isnt added ??
Thanks. Steve

Damn it ! ! ! Sorry about that ! I tried to delete the first one, and ended up making 2 more !
Viva La Ramen !
Ramen soup is OK, but I like it "dry-cooked", with just enough water to make the noodles soft or al dente. (To do this properly, you must first pummel the bag until it has completley broken up inside, and if you do this correctly, you will not tear the bag and be picking ramen out of your hair and ears.) You can mix anything in at this point, including "unusual things" like crushed pineapple, jam, raisins, etc. Or you can just put (meat) veggies in with nuts, sunflower seeds, what ever, spices, and A RAW EGG. Mix quickly and completely, and slam into a ready teflon wok or some big pan, and fry it golden, crispy brown and crunchy.
Sprinkle shredded cheese, or spread sour cream and add sprouts, Apply as much hot sauce as you can stand.
This is Ramen Heaven ! ! !

i like ramen. it is dirt cheap. i wont get paid for a week and i have no money. i am only worried about running out of cigarettes. since ramen exists, i never have to worry about food. the way i cook ramen is when it is just about done, all the noodles are fully cooked and it is in the water on the store with the flacour added, i quickly mix in an egg. one raw egg. the heat in the water is sufficient to cook the egg but it turns out like some type of japanese soup. it gives the ramen another dimension as well as much needed nutritional value, or at least it makes it more sustaining.
I enjoy ramen frequently. I espically enjoy my nice shin-cup spicy kimchee Korean-style ramen in the afternoons after a morning's jog! Ramen is truly the proletariats feast of kings!
I am currently a college student at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. I have found that when I'm up late at my studies, Ramen noodles are the perfect food. And my entire hall agrees with me. We've all got our own bowls (which we just rinse and reuse) and our own stashes of the dehydrated noodles from God. I swear, I feel like some being in an ancient civilization that has just been visited by the dietary genius that is the God of Noodles. I just wanted to spread the gratitude. Thank you God. Thank you.
How are ramen noodles cooked in microwave? My daughter is not allowed a hot plate at school. She loves her ramen noodles!

When I lived in Japan getting ramen from the street vendors
was always a treat on cold winter days, their ramen was never from the package ramen with other added ingredients.
I'd like to find real ramen receipes if anyone has them.
Thanks so much....Kasey
My husband and I love Ramen noodles, except he can't have them. Ramen noodles contain MSG and that is one of the things that triggers Migraine Headaches. I wish that they would come out with Ramen Noodles not containing MSG, because as good as they may be, his headaches aren't worth buying them.
Yay for really cheap noodles.
Okay, so if you use vanilla soymilk instead of water when preparing the oriental ramen it's orgasmic. It sounds unlikely, but trust me.
Ramen is good when you are broke. I have lived off it all through college and then some. To be honest, I liked it more when I was younger. Now I can only eat it once in a while. The best way I like it is to add onions, hot sauce, egg chicken or beef.
My boyfriend and I go to a Japanese ramen resturant every week called Shin Sen Gumi. Japanese ramen, lets just say i can never get enough of it. I use to eat top ramen, but the noodles dont compare to Japanese ramen.

Ramen is one of my favorite Japanese foods/meals. Off topic perhaps but... Where can I find a Ramen place, like the ones in Japan, in the U.S.? Some Japanese restaurants serve Udon, but no! I want real yummy Ramen. I live in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. Any help would be awesome. : )
Just made it as i type, boil ramen any flavor, drain most of the water but leave some, add seasoning, garlic salt, pepper, oregano, and one packet of soy sauce and chinese hot sauce.(you know, put all those packets 2 use u get when u order chinese food) YUMMY!!!!!
screw pasta. screw mcdonalds. screw life. just give me my ramen.
creamy chicken is my ramen flavor of choice. i microwave them in a bowl, crushed, with about a cup of water for 4 minutes on high. then i stir in about 2/3 of the seasoning packet. if you want a really special treat, cook the ramen as i just described, then sandwhich between two slices of buttered whitebread. or, add about a tablespoon of spicy mustard to the cooked and seasoned ramen for a little extra kick. i love ramen and i will eat them forever and ever. ^_^
when i was in junior hs, i used to break up the the noodles into small chunks in the bag, put the seasoning in the bag, shake it up n eat it as is. tasted almost like chips.... add some hot sauce n umm yea, try it
Take one bowl of cold water and add one package of Ramen to it.
DO NOT Open that plastic package.
Now go at that package with knife and fork.
No one has tried Ramen this way...

now 10 years since ramen was all i could afford, I still indulge daily. Throw away packet, add vietnamese hot sauce california garlic powder and powdered wasabe powder! Slice mushrooms and add after one minute. Put cream cheese on white bread and make ramen sandwich!
Ramen is friggin' awesome! I'm a college sophomore, and let me tell you... it has gotten me through more than one financial crisis when I was a little low on the grocery money. *lol* I like to cook all of the water out of the Ramen - it makes it a little sticky, but yum yum good! Oh! And the powdered cheese from the Extreme Easy Mac makes a nice addition.
d00d! I loooooove 'two minute noodles', as we call them. All this time, and I never knew I was eating Ramen. And my friends though I was just lazy.
Ramen RULEZ!
Cook chicken flavored 'ramen noodle soup' like regular, but after adding the regular seasoining and stirring, add very little salt and pepper, stir, then add "garlic & Pepper"-seasoning salt, and soy sauce. this stuff tastes amazing for pretty much just regular ramen.
I love ramen and could eat it every single day. If you think it's unhealthy, blanch the noodles before making the soup - that way you remove the wax on the noodles, which is unhealthy.
Someone was asking about no MSG ramen noodles?
