What is Ramen?

Ramen, for those unlucky of you who haven't had the chance to enjoy it's salty and fatty goodness, is a soup comprised of broth and long noodles. Originally from Asia, ramen has recently overtaken the United States low budget food market. A typical pack of ramen costs around 20 cents, and takes three minutes to cook. Just boil up some water, drop in the square cartridge of dried noodles, wait three minutes, and stir in the yummy flavor packet.

Until very recently, ramen was sold in the United States as an imported food. In the past year, however, ramen has been embraced by American food manufactures as staple product, and has been diversified into numerous niches. Among these are low-fat ramen, vegetarian ramen, and baby ramen. Other, more standard flavors include beef, pork, chicken (which, until the advent of vegetable ramen, was the only ramen vegetarians could eat), squid, and "Oriental".

Yes, ramen is all this and more. Here are the ingredients:....

Hmm.... nevermind. Perhaps it's better you don't know.

Ramen - It's more than just a meal - It's a Lifestyle.
